The live recording was completed in one take, with the duo embracing instinctual decisions made in the moment to preserve meaning transmitted from the experience of being in the forest. Changes throughout happen spontaneously, almost unconsciously, but come together to form a cohesive whole; a communication from another perspective.
“Last summer we spent a week in a wooden house by a forest in Poland. We took a walk in the forest, swam in the lake, and breathed the clear air. Every night we picked fresh melissa and mint, and made them into tea before sleep.
One evening, half dreaming, one of us got a vision of floating above the forest."
"We made 'the spirit of the forest' a few months after that summer experience. Without too much thought, we recorded the sound in full in one take. Reflecting on it, we felt that the forest spoke through us."
Across the recording, the duo explore the full range of the frequency spectrum, stretching our listening capability, and simultaneously delivering an addictively raw and authentic sound. A balance of hazy, obscured elements reminiscent of memories or dreams contrast with a bright clarity and vitality effecting immediate sensory response.
"We feel that we transmitted the information given to us by the forest at that time. There is no message from us."
The piece will air on London's Voices Radio with Philippa Godsalve on April 10th 2026.
Accompanying the exclusive release of the piece on bandcamp, a full video made by the duo was released on March 27

While the first single 'the sprit of the forest' was a direct message from the forest in Poland, these improvised pieces show the duo's inner feelings, emotions and their way of receiving nature.
