Sharing a love for cassette recording and the sonic qualities of tape, the duo begun incorporating the fourtrack into their performances and recordings as an active element of the improvisation, and continue to experiment with structure and temporal form.
In recent performances, they have taken a hybrid acoustic and electronic approach by recording material onto cassette tape during the first half of the performance, then bringing the material back in reverse, resampling, and eventually creating new improvised forms entirely from the resampled material.
They are currently at work on their first studio album, selecting and editing material from eight studio sessions held in studios in London between September 2025 and May 2026.

KRZYSZTOF ZUBEK (piano & electronics) & ANTON SCONOSCIUTO (drums & electronics)
showcase recent collaborative explorations in improvised music centred around live drums and
piano, captured and processed through cassette recording.
Evolving out of individual practices of improvised music, the acoustic sounds played by the duo
are printed live onto tape, and come back into the performance as a collective memory practice.
Concentrating on timbre, impulse, reaction and flexibility more than on genre or outcome, the duo
fully accept and bounce off what the tapes decide to give back to the performance, transferring
the performative and mnemonic responsibility to analog machinery.

KRZYSZTOF ZUBEK & ANTON SCONOSCIUTO research specific acoustic timbres on the piano which, with the help of a cassette player, are recorded and played back. This reproduction aims to focus on the ephemeral aspect of sound and on its memory. As we lose connection with the memory of a sound a few instants after its vibration, the cassette acts as medium for a different remembrance of it to take the scene.
